Organs, Tissues & Cells is the official English-language quarterly of ETCO (European Transplant Coordinators Organization). The journal is published in co-operation with Agence de la Biomédecine, DSO (Deutsche Stiftung Organtransplantation), Hungarotransplant, ONT (Organización Nacional de Trasplantes), Swiss Transplant, CNT (Centro Nazionale Trapianti).
The journal has been published under this title since 1997, when it replaced ETCO Newsletter. The journal had therefore a new graphic concept and a new editor while at the same time managing to further encourage the initial spirit of collaboration with numerous associations (ESOT, ISOS, ITCS, NATCO…), countries, institutions and contributors as the aim was to maintain and enhance diversity with respect to both authors and contents.
Organs and Tissues publishes articles on organ and tissue donation, sharing and transplantation. Its mission is to offer a service to ETCO projects, monitor and publicize international clinical and research activities, follow the development in the medical staff-donator/donator’s family relationship, reports on public educational and communication strategies, analyse ethical and legal aspects of organ and tissues transplantation.
Along with original contributions regarding the most recent clinical research and activities, the journal also publishes updated statistics, dedicated information and service-news.
